FS: Dutton kit car "project" Empty FS: Dutton kit car "project"

I recently picked up 2 project cars, a Saxon(Austin Healey 3000 replica) and a Dutton(Lotus Seven Series 4 replica?) and can only keep one. I had a Saxon many years ago and have decided to keep that one and get rid of the Dutton. I was wondering if this might be the right place to find a new home for a "project car" like this.

I must say up front that I don't have any information on the history of the car, just what the seller told me. He never did anything to it after buying it 4-1/2 years ago due to a back injury. It was a true "barn find", just look at the pile of swallow poop on the fender!

This is a "project" first and foremost. From the story I was told, the car had a V-8(possibly an Olds 455) and an automatic transmission. The transmission tunnel was cut for fitment of the larger engine/trans and then some aluminum was put in place. It was a crappy job and needs to be redone. The steering column was redirected in the engine bay presumably to clear the motor and needs to have a new shaft fabricated. Some of the tubing in the engine compartment had been cut and replaced too. It looks like the front suspension hasn't been modified other than possibly the upper shock mounts. I have taken a bunch of pictures, so please take a close look and let me know if you have any questions or need a better picture of a specific area.

The body is in decent shape with the exception of the hood which was modified for the engine/carb/air cleaner. I would suggest using it as a template and making a new aluminum one. Again, I took pix, so have a look for yourself. In my opinion, the car would look better with a standard nose and hood. The front fenders, scuttle, trunk and rear bodywork are all in good shape.

I don't know much about Duttons but have been told that they use Triumph GT-6/Spitfire front suspension components and a Ford rear axle tube with a 4-link set-up, but everything is here and obviously handled the big V-8 atleast for a little while. The car sits on Alley Cat 13x8" wheels. I pushed it on/off the trailer and stopped it with the e-brake, so I know the steering and brake works fine.

I'm advertising the car on this forum because of the membership skill level and willingness to take on any and all fabrication needed to tackle a project lke this. I believe that this car would save the builder hundreds of hours of work and sourcing pieces/parts. It also has a title which saves another whole problem. Any interested party can PM me with questions of to make an offer.

$3800 or possible trades(enclosed trailer, rat rod, motorcycle, ???).
