    Hey Tom,

any news on the reconfiguering of the classes to fit RTA...

I wanted to have newer better numbers / magnets made for this year and dont want to screw up the class ????

Donna mentioned at the awards dinner that maybe LISCA was going to arrange to have some made up that we can buy ? have ? get ? i would be in for those !!

speaking of LISCA / EMRA when do we renew ??

    Thanks !!

    For all:

ONLY the Tuner classes are being re-configured.

If people modify their cars beyond EMRA's ST class
limits they can choose to be classed under the new Tuner classes.

These Tuner rules will be approved on 2/21 & released on 2/22.

They will not effect the regular EMRA ST classification rules.

For club renewals - each club is different.
For LISCA we will be renewing at the first EMRA event.

For car numbers : EMRA is working with some car numbering
companies for EMRA participants - more info to come...

FYI the registration for Lime Rock opens 2/22/12

I really need to figure out what class the subaru can run in this year - if you read the RTA rules set forth, only 50 and up wear tires are allowed. Meaning hoosiers are out. ST-AWD seems to be always competitive, but this shuffles things up a bit with new rules.

Ok - I just re-read all the T/O, st rules, and the RTA rules. I still fall squarely within the ST-AWD rules, but could have also run T/O.

Tom - Will it be correct that these new classes will be using the RTA tire limitation of UTQG 50+? Looks like the only class that can run a hoosier is their unlimited/shop class and god knows i'm not trying to see who has the most available cash. Smile

I think some clarification would be good on that.

    OK
    Time for some clarifications:
As stated in the original post above, the only changes will
    be in the Tuner classes.
    EMRA T/U T/O & T/V8 will be eliminated.

That means that ALL EMRA ST CLASSES ARE NOT CHANGED.

If you fall into EMRA ST-AWD you an stay there.
If you feel based on YOUR CHOICE you want to run under
the new RTA Tuner classes, you can.

    One main criteria: tires.
UTQG 140+ can stay in Tuner Stock (aka Street Tuner)
UTQG 50-139 has to move to Tuner Modified.

These DO NOT affect the EMRA ST Classes.

If you have a car with more than 3 EMRA ST class exceptions
you may Choose to be bumped up a class or enter one of the
    Tuner classes.

EMRA's Tuner classes were designed to accommodate people
with modified cars that were either EMRA illegal or had
more mods than allowed in their classes(3). So we created
T/O T/U & T/V8. Now that more and more entrants have
modified vehicles, EMRA is creating new classes for them
to compete: Tuner Stock, Tuner Modified & Tuner Unlimited.

Insted of starting with a clean sheet of paper we chose to start
with the already written rules of RTA.

And just in case you missed it, NO EMRA ST CLASSES WERE CHANGED.

On Feb 22nd we will be posting the official EMRA tuner class rules.

    Please be patient. No

All EMRA members that are bumped from ST classes
(because of exceeding the ST Rules limit)
will get the choice of being classed in a class higher
or going into the new Tuner Classes. More info to follow.

    EMRA T/U T/O & T/V8 will be eliminated.

In the first post quoted above, if an ST3,4 or 5 car was bumped FROM the ST class, they moved into T/U. If the second above post is valid, where would they be classified? Because you have eliminated the T/U class they can't be bumped there. Question

ST cars will not be bumped from ST. They are bumped up within the ST class based on the number of exceptions (modifications).
    OR
they will be allowed to move to the tuner classes. It is basically the same as before only there are now more Tuner classes to choose from.

Hope that clears things up a bit..
