TRACK SCHEDULE & INFO FOR WATKINS GLEN JULY EVENT

HELLO RACERS AND TIME TRIALERS.

THE SCHEDULE IS PREPARED AND POSTED
FOR OUR WATKINS GLEN EVENT.

THERE ARE 3 WORDS TO DESCRIBE IT:

TRACK-TIME TRACK-TIME TRACK-TIME !!!
(YES TRACK-TIME IS A REAL WORD AT EMRA)

BECAUSE THE TRACK IS SO BIG WE CAN FIT MORE CARS ON IT
SO WE WILL HAVE BLUE/WHITE AND RED/STUDENTS MERGED TOGETHER
IN OUR TIME TRIAL SESSIONS.
WE ARE ALSO MERGING SMALL BORE & BIG BORE RACERS EACH DAY -
THE RESULT IS TWO RACES ON TUESDAY FOR EVERY RACE CAR!

ON MONDAY WE HAVE:
2 (TWO) 25 MINUTE SESSIONS BEFORE LUNCH
2 (TWO) 30 MINUTE SESSIONS AFTER LUNCH

ONE HOUR AND 50 MINUTES OF WATKINS GLEN TRACK TIME!

RACERS GET A 25 MIN PRACTICE SESSION & A 30 MIN QUALIFYING SESSION.
THE COMBINED RACE WILL BE 25 MINUTES .

THE ENDURO SESSIONS WILL BE A 25 MINUTE PRACTICE SESSION WITH
A ONE HOUR ENDURO RACE.

MONDAY EVENING EMRA WILL BE HOSTING A BBQ FOR OUR TROPHY & BEVERAGE CEREMONY.
I ALSO HEARD THERE IS A PLAN FOR A KARAOKE SHOW !
ALL AT CLUTE PARK LAKESIDE PAVILION ON SENECA LAKE on 4th Street aka rte 114.

TUESDAY:
TIME TRIALERS WILL GET
3 (THREE) 30 MINUTE SESSIONS &
2 (TWO) 25 MINUTE SESSIONS

OVER TWO HOURS OF TRACK TIME !!!

RACERS WILL GET A 30 MINUTE WARMUP SESSION
A 30 MINUTE QUALIFYING SESSION AND
2 (TWO) 25 MINUTE FEATURE RACES.
(45 MINUTES IN BETWEEN EACH RACE)

MAKE SURE YOU MAKE ARRANGEMENTS FOR THIS EVENT OR
YOU WILL REGRET IT FOR A LONG LONG TIME.

Thats great track time... and the nASA crowd is a great add on also...

BTW Ive never been to the Glen, Due to the track time is there fuel available at the track or a gas station near buy... full out my car gets less than 7 MPG..LOL and the long straights are gonna chew that up fast...

Also by chance during lunch are there parade laps...wanna take Donna out...........Or maybe aN EMRA Chairman can take her out in a fiero..LOL

Cant wait... Lime rock used up the little bit of rear tires that i ha leftd, so im all set with some new sneakers to take on Johnathan...

Here is the latest info & news for WGI event:

Sunday: Cars can be dropped off in garages 7:30PM to 9PM
Anyone wishing to camp in the paddock area must pay $25 per day
(paid in advance) and be on the list of paying entrants.

If you arrive earlier (than 7:30PM) you may drop off your trailer in the
overnight parking area (by gate 4) You must remove the trailer
by 9PM or it will be locked in. Parking only - do not unload or work on your car.

Monday: gates open 6AM registration/tech opens 7AM (maybe sooner)
Gasoline will be available(100 octane) from 8:30am to 11:30am and 12pm to 3:30pm.
Probably cheaper to buy a red container - buy gas in town & throw container out
after the event. I don't know how much it costs for 100 octane at the track.
But I know it will be more than 93 Octane at gas stations. $$$
YOU WILL NEED LOTS OF GAS - ESPECIALLY Tuesday: 5 TT sessions & 2 Races.

Lunch: Everyone is on their own - there will be no concession stand open.
Bring a hero or take a ride into town on the lunch hour break.

Parade laps - EMRA will not be providing these - WGI will have parade laps
at a cost of $25 per car - arrangements made in AM of event.
(I don' know where)

Trophies/ceremony : MONDAY ONLY : EMRA has arranged for trophy ceremony @ the pavilion on the lake
@ Clute Park on 4th Street (aka rte 114) Beverages proved by OTIS FORD
& BBQ provided by EMRA. Parking is $5 per car. From the track - drive thru main street
toward the lake - slow - low speed limit there - make a right on route 114 aka 4th street.
Beach/Pavilion/Park is on the left. Arby's/Walmart on right is too far.

This is the most updated info we have.

anybody know what entrance we use on Monday to get to the garages???

also are there enough garages for everyone, or do we set up pit in the parking lot outside garages ?? just curious

looking at the registration, i dont think we will have more than 40 cars a day.. just a guess..

see everyone on monday / some Sunday night at Seneca Lodge..

Use the main entrance--sign the waiver at the gate/booths go up the hill -- through the tunnel under the uphill esses (I was once shooting at the esses when this roar started up and got louder and louder - it went on for almost a minute before I could even figure out what it was as the first of over 1200 bikes came up the hill, through the tunnel and into view--rolling thunder--definetely)--anyway--go straight after the hill levels off--that'll take you right to the garages -- There should be plenty of space -- often cars garage at an angle to the bay door so two can use each door. NO GAS CANS IN THE GARAGE--they must be left outside. There's a restroom near the end of the garages as you approach and another at the other end. see you there-- Dave
