Bever Run Hotel Question Empty Bever Run Hotel Question

Post  GOD Sun Apr 17, 2011 2:35 pm

Does anyone have a suggestion? The Holiday Inn that is close to the track is sold out. There is a Holiday Inn Express that the say is 10 miles away that still has rooms.

Monaca isn't that far of a drive from the track. I live just across the Ohio river from Monaca and it takes me about 17 minutes to get to the track. I suppose the benefit with this location is that it is near the Beaver Valley Mall and a host of restaurants, etc.

If you are interested in being closer to the track and a little more out of the mainstream, there are other basic motels available.

Within about ~2 miles of the track, there are some basic motels such as:

Danny's Motel: (724) 846-1940 No website best I can tell
Hilltop Motel: (724) 846-3928 No website best I can tell
Alpine Inn: (724) 846-9820 No website best I can tell
    Beaver Falls Motel: (724) 843-0630 http://www.bvmotel.com/
Lark Motel: (724) 846-6507 No website best I can tell

On race weekends, it has been my observation that the Alpine Inn and the Beaver Falls Motel get busy. This isn't necessarily an endorsement for them or an indictement on the others, but rather an observation.

Back towards the Holiday Inn Express that you mentioned, there is also a Hampton Inn that might be of interest - phone (724) 774-5580. There is also a Comfort Suites (724) 728-9480.

It's really down to what your preferences are for distance versus knowing what you are getting with a national chain.

Since I live so close, I have no first-hand experience with these but would be glad to check things, as time permits, if you have a specific request.

    Hope this helps.

Correct - I forgot to mention that one. It, too, is in the same area as the other off-brand hotels listed above. Previously, it was a one-off motel (Joe's Motor Lodge or something like that) and Super 8 stepped in and bought it a couple of years ago. That one seems to do OK during race weekends, too.

I have seen some drivers camp out during race weekends in the past. However, new for this year, BeaveRun management has gotten into some sort of gov't training program and sometimes access to the facility is limited as a result (I store my trailer there and I've see a change to facility access this year).

    http://www.beaverun.com/
I recommend you call the number at the bottom of the page and ask verbally to confirm. If at all possible, try to get Dan S. on the phone because he is a very reliable reource at the track. Dan's e-mail address is d.schlosser(at)beaverun.com. Phone is still probably better.

    Hope this helps.

Bever Run Hotel Question Empty Camping at track confirmed

    Post  Dave Z Tue May 03, 2011 1:09 pm

I just spoke to Mike at the track. They allow camping--$20 per night. I did not ask about "hookups"--as my tent and/or wagon don't need any--so it wasn't on my mind. I asked about facilities--there are showers. I did ask about access since Friday will be the travel day. He suggested asking EMRA what's in the contract. Charlie?

Bever Run Hotel Question Empty more info on track camping

    Post  Dave Z Wed May 04, 2011 11:05 am

Charlie G sent me the text of info he had regarding camping--which differed slightly with the info I got yesterday--and also was not quite specific enough for me. Spoke to Dan at the track moments ago and he answered in more specifics---
    1. the fee is $25 per night per vehicle--per vehicle meaning party of people--towed cars/trailers don't count.
    2. access will be anytime Friday afternoon and on--there will be 24 hour security so early and/or late arrivals can check in.
    3. there are no electrical hookups
    4. bathrooms and hot showers available at all times

I shared a room with Dave Z a couple times last season. Looks like he won't be making it this year. Anyone interested in splitting a room, let me know at:
